About AntiClathe Tours

Connecting travelers with the heart of Austria since 2018

Our Story

AntiClathe Tours began when three friends who loved exploring Austria realized something was missing. Most tours felt rushed, scripted, or focused solely on famous landmarks. They wanted to create experiences that felt more like wandering with a knowledgeable friend than following a guide with a flag.

What started as weekend walking tours around Vienna has grown into a collection of experiences across Austria. We now work with a small team of guides who share our philosophy: slow down, pay attention, and let places reveal themselves naturally.

What Drives Us

Authenticity Over Performance

We don't perform scripted speeches. Our guides share what genuinely interests them about Austria, which makes conversations richer and more spontaneous.

Quality, Not Quantity

We keep groups small and schedules realistic. Rushing through twelve attractions doesn't serve anyone. Spending quality time at four meaningful places does.

Local Perspective

All our guides live here. They know which bakery makes the best Sachertorte, when museums are quietest, and which hiking trails offer the most dramatic views.

Continuous Learning

Austria's history runs deep. We're always researching, attending lectures, and updating our knowledge so we can answer your questions with confidence.

Our Guides

Every guide brings their own expertise and passion. Some specialize in imperial history, others in alpine ecology or contemporary architecture. What they all share is deep knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for this country.

Anna Schneider

Founder & Vienna Specialist

Studied art history in Vienna and never left. Particularly passionate about Baroque architecture and coffeehouse culture.

Markus Berger

Sophie Wagner

Cultural Historian

Focuses on Austria's musical heritage and twentieth-century history. Leads specialized tours connecting past and present.

Thomas Huber

Food & Wine Guide

Former chef who now guides culinary tours through wine regions and traditional markets. Knows every producer worth visiting.

How We Work

Each tour is designed around a theme or area, but we remain flexible. If you're fascinated by something unexpected, we'll adjust. If you need a coffee break or want to spend extra time somewhere, we make it happen.

We prioritize accessibility and comfort. Routes are planned to avoid excessive walking for those who prefer gentler pacing, and we always know where clean facilities and good rest spots are located.

Safety matters. Our guides are trained in first aid, familiar with local emergency services, and equipped to handle various weather conditions. We monitor forecasts closely and communicate any necessary changes promptly.

We also care about sustainability. Tours use public transportation when possible, we partner with local businesses rather than international chains, and we encourage responsible tourism practices.
